2018 Chill Holiday Essentials

For some inexplicable reason, I have delayed my ritual of looping my Christmas playlist nonstop to this weekend. This year, I have been nothing but ON TOP OF my holiday shopping, but a recent hand injury has really been testing my Christmas cheer. The best thing that's come out of this injury (and my inability to practice) has been the immense amounts of free time I now find myself with. I've been able to finally work on some projects I managed to put off during the school year. And, I've found ways to satisfy my creative urges— many of these discoveries made this post today. If you're looking for some ways to chill this holiday season, look no further: ONE Holiday Essential Oil Blends I started getting into essential oil mixing a lot more this winter. There are so many different oils out there, but I tend to stick to the basics— lavender, tea tree, peppermint, orange. Don't get me wrong, these are "essential" (I had to), but I wanted to find some ...

New CGM Shampoo

Molly Weatherford Two years ago, I made one of the best decisions of my life. Ever since I started the “Curly Girl Method” which was developed by Lorraine Massey (you can find her amazingly informative book here ), I’ve been shocked by how much better my natural hair continues to look and feel. I’ve included a picture that compares the first day I started the Method to six weeks into the process. My point: it doesn’t take long, people! About two weeks ago, I was looking for a new shampoo and stumbled across a new product line from SheaMoisture. I’ve heard good things about the brand but never actually tried out any of the products for myself. They had a giant display for a...

But I won't even go there right now. Anyway, when choosing beauty products, I like to support companies that also embrace the 60's vibes. For me, peace and love are embraced by ethical companies, and I'm personally drawn to small businesses since I feel they tend to take more care in the process of developing their products. While SheaMoisture (the company who created the products I'm about to discuss) isn't small, it is definitely ethical. See an example of one of their projects here . Their new line of haircare products, Lotus and Chamomile, is wonderfully hydrating without weighing down my hair. And everything smells AMAZING! The icing on the cake is that every SheaMoisture product is also cruelty free, ethically sourced, and uses all organic ingredients. I promise I...
